3D printing and other rapid prototyping tools help Garlock explore new ideas quickly.At Garlock, we pride ourselves on developing solutions, not just products. From there, our materials and applications engineers set to work developing the material combinations and designs that best meet those needs.

From materials development to product design, we never stop looking for ways to meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.

Throughout our 130-year history, this approach to product innovation has led to numerous game-changing technologies that deliver unprecedented value, longevity, and reliability for our customers.

We first revolutionized the industry with the formulation of GYLON® restructured PTFE gaskets more than 55 years ago and have since continued introducing ground-breaking products, including:

  • GYLON® – Manufactured using a Garlock proprietary process, offering superior leak prevention for increased uptime, reduced maintenance, and substantial cost-savings
  • BLUE-GARD® – A unique blend of aramid fibers, fillers, and elastomeric binders to enhance torque retention and drastically lower emission levels
  • MIll-RIGHT® – Abrasion resistant and engineered to minimize wear, optimizing seal life
  • MULTI-SWELL® – A proprietary formulation for an ultra-tight seal in water and oil applications
  • THERMa-PUR® – Corrosion-resistant and the only gasket material designed to withstand high pressure and temperatures up to 1,832°F / 1,000°C
  • TUFF-RAIL® 3504 – Patented tank car manway gaskets incorporating raised sealing features for a tighter seal in less-than-ideal bolting conditions, even after multiple cycles
  • GYLON EPIX® – The next generation in PTFE gaskets, combining the traditional attributes of GYLON® with an innovative hexagonal surface design
  • WavePro® – Made-to-order, low-loss dielectric material for antennas 

As experts in PTFE and polymers, we are continually exploring new applications for our product and process expertise. This year, Garlock launched WavePro®, a made-to-order, low-loss dielectric material for antennas that offers reliability and high performance; even in the most extreme environments. Environmentally Conscious

We understand and champion the drive for a reduced carbon footprint both at our customers’ facilities and our manufacturing plants. As such, we continually work to introduce environmentally friendly products while also meeting our customers’ sealing objectives.

Garlock is also focused on the creation of a more environmentally sustainable workplace. Since 2005, Garlock has invested over $35 million USD in these initiatives, including replacing inefficient wastewater treatment plants, restoring valuable wetlands on campus, and constructing new, energy-efficient manufacturing facilities.
